Purpose:
This policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for advertising placements on the official Township website. The primary purpose of permitting advertising is to offset website maintenance and management costs while maintaining transparency, neutrality, and fairness.
1. Advertising Opportunities
The Township may permit local businesses, organizations, or service providers to place advertisements, including logos and company names, on designated areas of the Township website.
- All advertisements must be pre-approved by Township Administration.
 - Ad space may include logos, taglines, and a hyperlink to the advertiser’s website, subject to design and layout constraints.
 
2. Use of Advertising Revenue
Revenue generated from advertising shall be strictly allocated to:
- Website development and maintenance
 - Hosting and technology-related costs
 - Administrative and content management fees
 
No funds shall be used for unrelated operational expenses or discretionary purposes.
3. Neutrality and Endorsement Disclaimer
- The Township does not endorse, favor, or recommend any advertiser, company, or service whose logo or message appears on the Township website.
 - Advertisement placement does not imply any affiliation or preferential treatment from the Township.
 - All advertisers must agree to a disclaimer stating that their presence on the website does not indicate Township sponsorship or support.
 
4. Advertising Restrictions
The Township reserves the right to refuse or remove any advertisement that:
- Contains false, misleading, or deceptive content
 - Promotes illegal or harmful activities
 - Conflicts with the Township’s mission or community standards
 
5. Approval & Term
All advertisement requests must be submitted through the designated application process and approved in writing. Terms of placement, including duration and fee structure, will be outlined in a separate agreement.
6. Policy Review
This policy is subject to periodic review and may be amended at any time by the Township Board or designated administrator.
